This building is a fully functioning jail that contains 58 cells. It was built in part to service the federal courthouse as a holding place for prisoners. Its level of complexity over a standard police station is much higher. The security systems in place are similar to a standard detention center, including sophisticated control rooms for monitoring prisoner movements, padded cells, bunks, toilet fixtures, high security detention ceiling systems, thickened walls and surveillance systems that you would not normally find in other conventional stations.
