The main challenge was replacing an existing school on the site. School ended in the beginning of June, and demolition of the old building was initiated. After demolition was completed, it was discovered that soil capacity was insufficient to support the building. Therefore, we had to excavate down and rebuild the soil with fabric liner and several feet of stone to supplement the soil capacity. Elliot Elementary is a 78,000 square foot building that includes state of the art communications, data and computer systems, cafeteria with kitchen equipment and a gymnasium with wood flooring.
