ADA Stations Program – Maricopa, FL
This project delivers critical upgrades to enhance ADA compliance and station functionality.
The demolition phase involves removing the ticket counter area to prepare for a modernized replacement. Workers also remove outdated restroom fixtures and accessories to make way for ADA-compliant installations, ensuring accessibility improvements throughout the station.
The construction phase focuses on installing a new ticket counter with solid surface countertops, safety glazing, a baggage pass-through door, and printer cabinets. Framing, drywall, painting, and carpentry complete the ticket counter work. Crews replace two station entry doors with ADA-compliant hollow metal doors featuring stainless steel thresholds and automatic operators. Restroom renovations include the installation of floor-mounted toilets, wall-mounted sinks, electric hand dryers, grab bars, and door closers. Additional upgrades include plumbing, mechanical, and electrical improvements, an ADA-compliant wall clock, and Amtrak-approved directional signage. Salvaged brochure racks and toilet paper dispensers were reinstalled, creating a fully accessible and modern facility.
