Isle a la Cache Museum

Isle a la Cache Museum, located in Romeoville, Illinois, is operated by the Forest Preserve District of Will County. The museum resides on the island of Cache on the Des Plaines River. The museum hosts curated displays, public programs, and historical reenactments aiming to educate visitors on the fur trading done by the Canadian French and the Potawatomi Indians in the 18th century.
GAC provided construction services for a new 17,000-square-foot addition and completely renovated the existing museum. Included in the scope of work were improvements to electrical, HVAC, plumbing, roofing, doors and windows, public toilets, offices, display areas, and landscaping. GAC made accessibility improvements with ADA ramps, walkways, and parking lots.
