BNSF ARGENTINE YARD LMIT - Wheel Truing Pit

The project scope was to remove the existing wheel machine and make the necessary modifications to accommodate the installation of a new and larger wheel machine. The project entailed concrete cutting, demolition, excavation, shoring, the insertion of micro piles, concrete placement, installation of a precast utility trench, and electrical modifications. GAC upgraded the track and plates and installed new handrails, gates, stairs, and jib cranes. In cooperation with BNSF, GAC did not start this project until the Track 22 drop table was complete, thus allowing BNSF access in and out of the building with their Locomotives while the Wheel Machine construction was underway. Due to the river’s proximity, we worked closely with the Army Core of Engineers.
